ARTIST | ALICIA WALTER

Known for her “near-cosmic voice” (WIRED) and “stratosphere of songwriting all her own” (Consequence of Sound), Alicia Walter is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter who recorded her 2023 album, Right Noise, live with an all-star wrecking crew of musicians at BIG EGO.  Embracing influences spanning from Brill Building pop to jazz and 70s art rock, Walter draws comparisons to timeless songwriters like Carole King and Carly Simon, while her developed style of piano and voice is distinctly her own.

After first gaining attention as founder of the Chicago-based art pop outfit, Oshwa, Walter’s 2021 debut solo album, I Am Alicia (Sooper Records), is a bold retelling of her self-discovery; a soundtrack to get you up and over life’s hurdles when feeling like you are your only cheerleader.
