MUSICIAN | Steuart Liebig
A boundless musician with equal appetite for jazz, funk, and the avant-garde, bassist Steuart Liebig is simply one of the finest musicians of his era. Stepping onto the scene as a member of Les McCann’s band before joining Julius Hemphill’s ensemble (along with guitarists Bill Frisell and Nels Cline), Liebig has been a force on the creative music scene for decades as he continues to compose, improvise, and experiment according to his muse. His bass playing is featured prominently on both Guma releases, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon’s “Almost Heaven,” and JUNATIME’s synth pop opus, “Remember The Magic.”
